Quality Management in the Agriculture Industry

Good quality management practices are a continuous improvement process that all organizations strive to achieve. The agriculture industry is facing new quality management requirements including Product Identity and Preservation, Food Purity and Food Supply Security. This demand to handle and segregate differentiated products requires a high level of communication, coordination, and commitment from all participants in the supply chain. QM InSight is an incident tracking and reporting system that allows for incidents (action items) of all types, including corrective actions, injury investigations, non-conformances, preventive actions, and near misses to be created, assigned, and traced from initiation through final closure.

Incidents are created by any enrolled user. The incident is fully described and is auto-routed or manually routed (depending upon system configuration) to a specific person. The action item is then passed to the "Designee", a defined role to the system, who serves as the central point of contact for the action item through all of the subsequent Phases: Root Cause Analysis, Solution Plan, Plan Implementation, Effectiveness Verification and Closure. Using automated e-mail notification and advanced reporting features QM InSight keeps all parties informed on the current state of the incidents as they move through the phases of resolution. As a result, important pieces of information do not get lost.

QM InSight is a Web-based software application and does not require the installation of software at the desktop. Access to the system is through a web browser. Because it is Web-based, it is suitable for workgroup through enterprise level solutions.
